Decolonizing Wellness, An Ancestral and Earth-Based Approach To Wellness
A workshop developed and facilitated by Angela Angel
Taking care of ourselves has always been a part of the traditional indigenous village model. In traditional medicine the person is treated as a united human being. That means the mental, emotional, physical, spiritual and even collective health of the person and their community is approached as one entity, equally. All of our systems, embodiments and the larger aspects of ourselves are connected and constantly interacting with each other. In this workshop we will learn about those connections and how to more integratively approach health. We will be working with herbal medicine, our ancestral lineages, connecting the larger systems of oppression that affect our well-being and deconstructing how we approach wellness.
