MOM's PANTRY 002: My Grocery Store Garden

IMG_0932 copy.JPG

This is my Supermarket Garden, consisting of plantings from produce I bought at the supermarket. (There is, coincidentally, a related article in the current issue of Mother Earth News).  We are all familiar with growing basil from Trader Joe’s. Here are some options that may be new to you.
The plants are, counterclockwise:
Five celery bottoms, just planted
Sprouted garlic cloves
Scallion bottoms with roots (these have been growing about a week. I plan to add red and yellow onion bottoms, maybe leeks)
Living dill plant
Living butter lettuce (I harvest outer leaves and let it keep growing)
Baby Bok Choy bottoms, just planted

Other vegetables from the market we can grow or regrow:
Potatoes, ginger, celeriac
Radicchio, Belgian endive

I plan to try all of these, assuming I can find the more exotic ones.
Yet another way to Adapt and Thrive.
Blessings to all, with special blessings to novice gardeners.
